PIONEERING A HEALTHIER MARSHALL

Pioneering a Healthier Marshall (PHM) is a community-based coalition that is part of a national YMCA initiative, YMCA Activate America: Pioneering Healthier Communities.  It is based on proven community models that are successful in creating sustained community-wide improvements in health, particularly combating obesity and inactivity.  PHM's coalition was founded in November, 2005 and includes the City of Marshall; Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center; Marshall Public Schools; Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Pipestone Public Health; Western Community Action, Inc.; Hy-Vee.; The Schwan Food Company; Bremer Bank, Southwest Service Cooperative,  and the Marshall Area YMCA.
