Child watch Guidelines

$40 Unlimited Family-use Card Child Watch now has a $40 monthly unlimited family-use card.  This card will cover the entire specified month for every child on your        membership.  The card is good from the start of each month to the end of each month (i.e. January 1 – January 31).  Cards purchased in the middle of the month (i.e. Jan.9th) are good until that month is over (i.e. Jan. 31) and a new card will need to be purchased for the next month starting the 1st.

Ages:   The Child Watch room is available for children up through 8 years of age.

Sign In/Sign Out Procedures:  Our main concern is the safety and welfare of your child and though we are not a full-time childcare facility, we will provide some structured activities like reading, crafts, and games.  Our staff have a genuine concern for all children.  Every parent or guardian using the Child Watch service will be required to sign in and sign out on the log sheets in the Child Watch area.  You will be required to either purchase a punch card from the service center or pay for your child’s stay and show staff a receipt.  For your convenience, we will keep your punch card on file for you.  You are also required to be in the building while your child is here and it is required that you let us know where you will be.

Diapering:  If your child needs a diaper change while in our care, you will be asked to return briefly to the Child Watch area to do so.  There is a changing station in the Child Watch bathroom for your convenience.  Please check your child’s diaper before leaving him/her in Child Watch.

Discipline:  We will always treat children in our care with kindness and respect.  Child Watch staff are trained to use positive behavior guidance methods to gently guide disruptive children.  Our questions or concerns will be passed along to parents just as will information regarding your child’s fun experiences.

Personal Items:  Please label all your child’s things such as diaper bags, bottles, pacifiers, and sippy cups.  We cannot be responsible for lost items.  Please keep your child’s outdoor wear in the public coatroom.

Health Exclusion Policy:  Please do not bring your child to the Child Watch room if he/she is not feeling well.

Safety Issues:  Please do not allow your children to bring toys, money, and/or other items from home as these objects are often easily lost and pose a danger to small children.  We are not responsible for lost or broken items.

Volunteers and Donations:  We always welcome quality volunteers and donations of gently-used toys in this area.  Please contact either the Youth Development Director or the Executive Director if you are interested or can share.

Child Watch Questions/Issues:  Please feel free to discuss your questions, concerns, or suggestions with Child Watch Staff and/or the Youth Development Director, Monica Vierkant.
